Atlanta, GA — Fast-food promotional merchandise usually belongs in a garbage bin about five minutes after you pull out of the drive-thru.

It is usually cheap, plastic junk designed to keep a toddler quiet for exactly half a mile. But every now and then, a brand decides to skip the landfill-bound toys and actually hand over something you might want to keep.

Ahead of a massive, summer-long soccer season across North America, Church’s Texas Chicken is rolling out the Golazo Meal.

The central gimmick of this massive, $39.99 shareable box is surprisingly solid: every single meal comes packed with a legit, limited-edition collectible soccer ball.

Let’s talk about the food first, because it is a lot of food. Like, a lot of food. It is an unapologetic, grease-glistening, family-sized mountain of chicken designed specifically to sit in the middle of a coffee table while you yell at a TV screen with your friends.

For forty bucks, you get a 20-piece box of bone-in legs and thighs (or their hand-battered chicken tenders), paired with four large classic sides, and a whopping ten of their famous signature Honey-Butter Biscuits™. It is a massive carb-and-protein engine that easily feeds a small army of hungry matchday fans.

The collectible soccer balls are the real hook here. Rather than dumping them all into stores at once, Church’s is taking a page out of the streetwear playbook, dropping four highly stylized designs on a weekly rotation.

Each ball is inspired by a major global soccer powerhouse, letting fans collect national-themed designs for the USA, Brazil, Argentina, and Mexico.

And the styling doesn’t stop at the ball. Church’s has partnered with Courtney “Ceaux” Buckley, a highly respected multidisciplinary street artist based out of New Orleans.

Buckley, whose bold, expressive, and movement-heavy paint style is heavily rooted in Southern culture, has designed custom, limited-edition soccer boxes for the campaign.

For the art nerds out there, Buckley actually has permanent installations inside two of Church’s physical locations in New Orleans, making this feel less like a cheap corporate partnership and more like a genuine extension of the brand’s Deep South heritage.

Because you can’t just talk about community soccer without actually touching a soccer pitch, the Atlanta-based company is taking this campaign directly to the streets of Houston.

First, they are partnering with Big Brothers Big Sisters of America in Houston to host a specialized youth soccer clinic for over 40 local kids aged 10 to 17, focusing on athletic mentorship and teamwork.

Immediately following that, on June 27, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM CT, they are throwing a massive public block party at 12131 Kirby Drive, Houston, TX 77045.

The party is free, completely open to the public, and will feature live music, games, free food, and custom giveaways, capped off with a $1,000 cash donation to support local Houston youth mentorship programs.

All of this noise comes as Church’s celebrates its 74th anniversary in 2026. Founded way back in 1907—wait, sorry, that’s my car history talking—founded in 1952 by George W. Church Sr. across the street from the Alamo in San Antonio, the brand has grown into a massive international footprint.

Alongside its global sister brand, Texas Chicken, the company operates over 1,400 locations across 25 countries, pulling in over $1.6 billion in system-wide sales. Now owned by High Bluff Capital Partners and FS Investments, the brand is using this summer’s massive sports window to prove that old-school fried chicken still has a massive role to play in modern sports culture.
