Sweet Cravings, Wholesome Crunch: Lundberg Family Farms Unveils Dessert-Inspired Rice Cakes for Kids & Adults!

Lundberg Family Farms Sweet Cakes

Richvale, CA, January 26, 2026 – In a world grappling with ultra-processed foods, Lundberg Family Farms is throwing its hat into the dessert ring, but with a decidedly “better-for-you” twist.

The leading Regenerative Organic Certified® food brand, known for its California-grown rice, today announced the launch of Sweet Cakes, a line of crunchy, dessert-inspired mini rice cakes. These aim to offer kids and adults a new way to satisfy their sweet tooth, but can a rice cake truly stand in for a decadent dessert?

The premise is clear: more than 60% of kids’ diets and over half of adult diets consist of ultra-processed foods. Sweet Cakes position themselves as a wholesome alternative, inspired by classic flavors that both children and adults love.

Available in three nostalgic flavors—Birthday Cake, Apple Pie, and Salted Caramel—these mini rice cakes are made with Regenerative Organic Certified® brown rice and naturally sweetened with monk fruit, maple syrup, and cane sugar.

Each serving boasts 21 grams of whole grains or more, with 4 grams of sugar or less, and crucially, contains no artificial ingredients, dyes, flavors, or preservatives.

“Today’s families are craving fun, flavorful options they can feel good about, seeking to improve their diets without making sacrifices,” said Craig Stevenson, CEO of Lundberg Family Farms. He emphasized that Sweet Cakes “let parents say yes to something sweet… without the guilt.”

This aligns with Lundberg’s broader commitment to soil health, biodiversity, and better snacking for future generations, principles evident in their Regenerative Organic Certified® farming practices since 1937.

The three new flavors are crafted for versatility:

  • Birthday Cake: Toasty brown rice with classic vanilla birthday cake flavor and festive sprinkles for a mini celebration anytime.
  • Apple Pie: Sweet seasonings of apples and cinnamon with notes of butter and maple sugar for a cozy, pie-inspired crunch.
  • Salted Caramel: A sweet-meets-salty bite with rich caramel flavor and a hint of salt that keeps snackers reaching back in the bag.

These Sweet Cakes are designed to be tossed into lunch boxes, enjoyed with coffee, or poured into a bowl for movie night, blurring the lines between snack and dessert. In addition to being made with Regenerative Organic Certified® rice, they are Non-GMO Project Verified, Certified Gluten-Free, and produced in facilities powered by 100% renewable energy.

Available now nationwide at Sprouts Farmers Market, and online via Amazon, Walmart, and lundberg.com, Sweet Cakes are certainly accessible.

The question remains: how well will these crunchy, dessert-inspired rice cakes genuinely satisfy a craving that traditionally calls for something far more indulgent?

Lundberg Family Farms is betting that its blend of wholesome ingredients, natural sweetness, and nostalgic flavors will hit the sweet spot for health-conscious consumers.
